[Sponsor] ScreenConnect Self-Hosted Remote Support Software

Anybody figured out how to remove an Unattended from your panel?

On the SC forum, the only answer I've gotten is "uninstall it from the client" but that's not acceptable. What if you lose a customer and can no longer access it? What if they're distant (e.g. "remote") and they've had a clean install done?

I think they are working on this but at the moment there is no real way to remotely uninstall the client for an unattended.
The unattended clients do however disappear off the list if they haven't connected for more than 24 hours.

I know but it's not the same thing. There's a guy on the SC forums who needs to be able to remove someone from his side or risk litigation. His only option, at that point, looked to be a complete reinstall of his entire setup just because of that one ex-client.

I'd rather just be able to click an "X" and confirm and, boom, that client's system gets an Uninstall command sent to it next time it's online.

Yea it does seem pretty silly to not have included an uninstall remotely option from the start for the unattended installs.

A question about this unattended support:
Does every client automatically get installed as 'unattended mode' for subsequent reconnections or is it something that the tech has to specify?
With SimpleHelp for example, the tech has to specifically select this feature after he is connected.

It is completely separate. For one off support you can email, use a code which the enter on a website or a listed one for anyone to join.

For unattended a file is generated and it then needs to be installed.

Thank you for the clarification.
The unattended support of SimpleHelp seems easier to install.

Is it me or is it not working in Firefox now?

After updating - when i go to Host section, dials keep on a spinnin and never stop. Firefox Version 8.0.1

IE works fine. Anyone else? I tried on two PC's same thing. Maybe this is why the new video on pinning screenconnect using chrome and IE? Just kidding...

Also i was happy to see we can now delete our unattended (thank you) but was disappointing to see you cannot rename them? =( -sad panda-

Also "Notes"... you can create notes, but cannot edit or delete them?

C'mon now....

weird....

I can;t even get the uninstall to work. It never lights up to uninstall.

Hi,

I had a similar problem I.e. spinning in FF and Chrome, but I resolved it by restarting the server (restarting the services did not work).

Also try clicking on "Build an installer" as this kicked it into life for me in an earlier build.

Cheers

Rebooted Server...
Uninstalled....
Re-installed...
No change...
LOL now all my previous unattended sessions are no longer accessible. They show up on list but are all off-line.. JOY!!!

Still cannot uninstall unattended or edit/delete notes.

Please fix this ASAP!!!!!!!

I had it "just spinning" when I first updated. A Ctrl-F5 fixed that.

I haven't tried an unattended uninstall. I'll try to hit my bench machine on that tomorrow.

BitBytes -- it's going to always be best to post to the SC forums. They live there. They only sometimes visit here.

Woohoo!! that worked...

I also figured it out thanks to your reply pointing to their forum.
I had to do the security changes for Admin and Host. Nice of them to let people know during install.

Notes work now. I am able to add and remove. (Have to remove inside session log)

Tested Uninstall - It works perfectly

I'm glad that worked. We usually suggest that after an upgrade, but it's hard to communicate because every technicians browser client needs to be refreshed. But most browsers revalidate the cache automatically. We'll probably instruct the browsers not to cache anything in the future. It seems like we run into this a lot.
