Do a Reinstall the same.
Install Windows 10 Anniversary Build. WU works fine. Installs CU, 0X80240439 is back
Clone from the old drive to the SSD. Same issue.

Clean install and tried WSUSOffline same error
Clone with HDClone and WSUSOffline same error

Tried sfc
Tried dsim
Tweaking AIO

Checked both drives they are fine
It's activated to the correct key.
RAM is fine. (also upgraded to 16gb)

What have I missed?

It was meant to be going back to an office tomorrow morning at 8.30am. I doubt that is going to happen.

Edit.

I have also tried via WiFi, Ethernet and a USB Ethernet adaptor thinking it was the network card.

Not yet, It's hardware based I'm sure.

I downloaded all the mobo drivers. installed reboot the same.

Pulled the drive into a bench PC and WU worked.

so put it back in and nada, zip, nothing!

The business needed it back so it's in the office. locked down well. and I plan to get it back in over next weekend.
