Phone: Samung Moment from Sprint with Android

Pros: very nice companion device, I can do almost anything, its rooted and set up te teather. Almost all apps are free. The slide out keyboard is a must.

Cons: have to carry charger the battery indicater sucks, and it enters airplane mode daily, only way out is to reboot it.

Apps: Gmail, google, Browser, Wifi scanner, Wifi Explorer yet to find a awsome techtool

Overall: sweet phone, with it lost the need for my computer, I can do everything from my phone, I'm currently trying to test the ability of dual mounting the sdcard with a flash drive I spliced a usb cable with a usb extension cable, just need to finish the application to test it. Battery and auto airplane is a turnoff but its a minor issue compared the unlimited abilitys this phone is able to have. I would recommend it to someone, even the dicks at sprint will talk you out of to have a crappy Hero phone.

Phone: iPhone4

Pros: Light/thin apps and browsing is ultra fast, large selection of free apps

Cons: Scratches easily, calls drop when in bad service area (hopefully will change with a case) some of the best apps cost an arm and a leg

Apps: Remote desktop, VNC client, DropBox, Mint, bunch or random games

Overall: Great phone with amazing power and a huge selection of very useful apps. I have had an iPhone sense the release of them 3 years ago and it is def the best one so far. The call issue isn't huge but is noticeable when I am not near a populated area, which fortunately isn't often. Another issue some people have brought up is the change in data plans but I am grandfathered in for unlimited. Also it would be nice to Att to support tethering, but you can't have your can and eat it.

Overall I am very happy with the phone and would recommend it to anyone in the market.

Phone: HTC Evo 4G (Sprint)
Pros:
  • 4G
  • Large Screen
  • WiFi Hotspot
  • Kickstand
Cons:
  • Low Battery Life
  • Sometimes too big
Best Apps:
I don't care too much for Apps as much as I do for the 4G.
Overall:
Overall the HTC Evo 4G is by far the best "smartphone" I've ever owned. In fact, I think this thing deserves it's own category in between smartphone and tablet. I think this qualifies as a "Mobile Internet Device" or MID, with phone capabilities.

As far as I can tell, the only real con to this phone is the "low" 4-5 hour battery life. I love this thing and it only cost me $200! wee!

Phone: Nokia N97 Black O2 UK

Pros: Full QWERTY Keyboard.....thats about it

Cons: Interface is a pain 99.9% of the time and touch screen sometimes is unresponsive.

Best Apps: iPlayer (BBC UK TV), Solitaire? lol

Overall: Its a phone, it texts, calls and emails all pretty well. Oh and I dont have to hold it in a special way to make a phone call :)

Will be upgrading in the next few months, no idea what to.

Phone: HTC Droid Eris
Pros: Quick, versitle, and good layout, developing apps is easy
Cons: Battery Life, Apple doesn't love me
Best Apps: Remote Desktop, LogMeIn Ignition (Not that useful, but cool none-the-less), PDANet, RoboDefense.
Overall: Good quality phone. I prefer Android over any other mobile OS and HTC over any other smart phone manufacturers. can't wait to upgrade to the next HTC incredible.

Phone: iPhone 3G
Pros: Calendar email contacts sync
Cons: ATT, crap coverage, more dropped calls in more places :D
Best Apps: Urban Spoon, Financial Apps
Overall: Since getting an iPad, have decided to scrap this phone; no need to give ATT $60/mo for data plans

Phone: HTC Evo 4G (Sprint)

I was thinking of waiting for this phone, do you have decent 4g speeds? The reason I ask my 3g sprint card got better speeds then my 4g clear card, and sprint and clear buddy the signal together so I know sprints 4g would be the same. And I was told by the dick at sprint ill be charge by the amount of data, so I was a bit ******, but now I'm locked up for a year instead of 2 so its ok, complaining goes a long way.

Truth be told, I don't get ANY 4G as 4G is only available in some of the biggest cities in the USA. Click here to see if your city has 4G.

Anyway, fact of the matter is that it's still the best phone I've ever owned, hands down.

I have the HTC Touch Diamond ( the original Touch ) with Sprint.

I was thinking of getting the Touch Pro 2 but a friend of mine just got the EVO and I am very impressed with that ... it would mess up my plan though so I have to weigh it out.

I have the HTC Evo and the only issue is the battery. I wish this problem could be fixed.

HTC Magic

HTC Magic

Pros:

Runs Android so is fully synchronised with Google Mail, Calendar, Tasks and Contacts
On Vodafone giving the best coverage for the UK.
Decent battery life

Cons:

Not quite as fast as an Iphone
Hard to see the screen in full sun

Apps:

The google standard apps are perfect for keeping my appointments and contacts available all the time.
Google Maps with directions ideal for getting to clients

Phone: Blackberry Curve 8310

Pros: It makes calls

Cons: It is not an iPhone

Best Apps: Blackberry Messenger

Overall: I hate it.

Basically I have been a Blackberry fanboy before the iPhone was even around. Never really had a problem with the phone, but never really did much more then use it as a phone and for e-mail. At one point I was tethering, but that was expensive and slow. Being an uber fanboy, I really ignored all the features that the iPhone has and was pretty satisfied. After seeing the keynote for the iPhone 4, I now ask myself what the hell was I thinking.

Moral of the story: I am now taking donations for an iPhone 4 :p

G1 (Can you even get these anymore?!)

Pros: It's been a good, reliable first smartphone. Good call quality, handles the apps I need.

Cons: WAY behind in horsepower, memory and capabilities compared to current phones.

I've actually been very satisfied with it, but nevertheless I'm looking forward to the day it dies and I have a "need" to get a new device.

Most used apps (shortcuts on the home screens): Wifi Analyzer, Google VM, Google Voice, TouchDown, Calculator, K-9 Mail, StopWatch (to time stoplights), Google Maps/Navigator, Music, SportyPal, Aldiko Ebook Reader, Blue Letter Bible, ShopSavvy, and of course Robodefense.

HTC HD2

Pros: Massive screen; got everything in it; fits comfortably in pocket; nice design; it doesn't suffer from signal dropouts even when I hold it in my hand.

Cons: Windows Mobile OS

There's a fantastic new app. out for the iPhone 4 - it's called the Phone Booth Finder. :p

Has anyone with the Evo noticed any speed improvements since the 2.2 Froyo update. Supposedly its supposed to be an improvement of 450%. I feel its very snappy but i havent been using my phone a lot since the update to check it out

Private phone and partly used for business is an Iphone

Pros:

Brilliant apps such as Invoice2go and inbuilt email, notes(keep all my technical notes and data as my brain isn't as good as it used to be :) )

Tapatalk used for this forum saves all that browsing etc

TomTom App

Diary

It all syncs with my Macbook

Cons:

Battery life had to be :p

My business phone is a Blackberry Curve

Pro:

Great for email and battery life.

Cons

Browser is rubbish

Phone: Motorolla Droid with Verizon
Pros: Navigation!
Cons: Call forwarding
Best Apps: Remote Desktop, Documents2Go
Overall: 10

I love my droid. The first week I had it we took a road trip from Phoenix, Arizona to San Francisco. It was the first time I'd ever taken a trip without a bunch of paper maps printed out. The ability of the Droid to direct us to anywhere we wanted to go was superb.

The only thing I dislike about the phone is call forwarding from Verizon. They will not let you adjust the number of rings before forwarding calls to another phone. I used to use T-Mobile and you could set this to something like 3 rings. With Verizon the phone rings forever before the call is forwarded.

Phone: HTC Legend

Pros: Sleek design, Android

Cons: Have to charge it every night

Best Apps: (Most used): Wifi Analyzer, Spotify, Navigon, Tapatalk, DroidVNC, XBMC Remote, Torrent-fu, gReader

Overall: Best phone I ever had. Ive used Iphone before and the only thing I miss is that I know no way to use podcasts as easy as on the iphone. Itunes has a great library of audio/video podcast ready to get transferred to the phone, nothing like that for Android as far as I know.
