HI all TN
the problem is on my personal computer ,the computer worked fine if i played Games "Cod4 ,WOW ,NFS no problem at all no problem with Photo editing software or video ,but went i run like Cpuz or what ever tool scanning hardware it froze :Ran memtest ,checkdisk ,smart test and nothing on event log ?
Any idea?

Before running the hardware scanning app like CPUZ, I would suggest close the firewall and any 3rd party system related software.

Reset the Bios may help!

hope this helps.

I ran across a similar issue on a win7 machine recently. Go into device manager and check "show hidden devices" and see if there are any unknown devices. Turns out I had to bully some extra chipset drivers in that particular machine. After getting that driver in (apm driver), pcwizard ran fine.

similar problem with XPS DELL TOWER(2005)freezes up

similar problem with XPS DELL TOWER(2005)
freezes up once boots, mouse moves but nothing opens up, so cannot diagnose
tried installing another HD, even linux, same problem, must be hardware issue, any ideas?

yes, even in safe mode ,or when boot from CD

I worked on a PC that would physically turn off when certain programs were run. Turned out that the PS was marginal and when the PC became stressed, the PS would fail. Replaced the PS and all was OK.

Not quite the same situation you're experiencing, but maybe worth a shot as it seems you've eliminated any software reasons.

ran PC CHECK- so far memory 1 microtopology failed i assume thats memory stick?
but its a fairly new stick of 2 gig kingston memory? ,all the other components of memory in the PC CHECK passed??

If it is happening even when booting from a live CD you can almost certainly assume it is a hardware related malfunction or misconfiguration. Reset the BIOS, then re-seat the CPU with new paste. Try again. If you have a spare CPU around the shop, drop that it and see what happens.
