Frustrated here, I've done a million of these but for some reason its not working here for me. I have a Toshiba e45 b4100 with win 8.1. Everytime I try to do a in place upgrade to win 10 I get "Windows 10 Installation has Failed" I found security center was corrupted and AVG was on it, uninstalled, cleaned with removal tool, sfc, chkdsk, clean boot, I did a in place reload of 8.1, now everything is fine. I try the upgrade again from my known good windows 10 installer usb, same error??? ideas?

Just a wild a$$ guess, try an older build of 10 like 2004 or something.
That's what I'm doing now, after googling I found ver. 1809 might work, I started it and got a warning that the Intel HD 5500 was not compatible, (weird Toshiba has drivers for the machine for win 10 on their support site) guess I'll see how it goes, hopefully I can just update the driver.

Yeah, dont do 2004, do 1809.

But even then... it's going to be rough.
Yup 1809 was fine, no problems at all, just had to install the Toshiba function key driver, video was just fine with the basic windows driver
