windows 10 reinstall HP storage drivers needed?

WE just came across an hp laptop when we were going to install Windows 10 it did not see a hard drive(it boots windows). I have not yet did any research on this. Are there some new controllers that the Windows 10 installer does not have drivers for them?

I will dig into it and let you know. Based on your question, I am guessing you have not come across this before. It is very new looking so I am guessing it is a new chipset issue

How is the install media created? If it's MBR, and the drive is initialised as GPT, the installer won't detect the drive.

I encounter this often with old computers I put SSD in a newer computer until the first reboot then put it in old computer or worse case I install Win 10 then do the swap

Is this a new drive? Have you looked in Drive Manager to see if it is listed, or diskpart?

Could be an Optane issue, That's why the model can possibly assist.
