remote support options

$900 forever versus $399 for a year...but who's counting?

Sure. And Instant Housecall Lifetime Licences are available for $899. Plus you don't have additional costs like paying for a server to run it on, an operating system, maintenance, time and effort, plus someone else takes care of everything for you with a turn-key solution that is monitored and managed on your behalf. It's upgraded automatically, pro-actively monitored for security, and code signed and AV whitelisted.

Like I said, I know there are differences in the products and packages, but total cost of ownership, time and effort, and feature-set matter. Others choose a competitor's product for their own reasons. For those whose business-needs we meet, we are grateful for their business.

$899 Lifetime for twenty unattended installations. I have about 150 right now and can double/triple that whenever I want. The IHC Pro Lifetime is still limited to 200 installs.

Again, I'm not trying to say it's a bad product in any way. I am saying that SC is about the best bang for your buck that a tech can spend.

I can point out the features we offer like including PC Repair Automation at no additional charge (an expensive product by itself), remote hardware repair, unlimited unattended on-demand, unlimited customer installs, a full-featured modern Windows app, and again, code-signing so that your customers can always get through the firewall/AV/browser warnings.

The cost of a single customer not making it through AV alone could easily exceed the whole cost of Instant Housecall. With Instant Housecall, there's no server to buy or maintain, no operating system to pay for, no maintenance to worry about. When Heartbleed was discovered, our customers didn't have to lift a finger. The price tag you're looking at doesn't tell the whole story.

We can go back and forth on this forever. I understand that these benefits do not provide enough value to you personally, but they do for many businesses.

I'm glad that you've found a solution that you're happy with. I'm thankful that there are folks who appreciate the value Instant Housecall offers.

Corey, why are you listing points that aren't relevant? Screenconnect doesn't require a server; it's self-hosted on almost any machine. Other than that, you're just bold-printing points I've already made about SC.

How does "remote hardware repair" work? Can IHC remotely fix a broken CPU fan or reseat the RAM?

+1 on Ammy Admin, in spite of the nay-sayers that see it as as a fraud tool. (It's the toll of chioce for "Microsoft support" scams.) I've been using it for years and it has been excellent. Just be sure to customize it with your own password.
