All of a sudden the client iPhone and iPad are no longer able to connect to his business email account hosted by Google.
The iPhone by the look of it was setup to connect through Exchange rather than IMAP but he reckons it used to work. Thought Exchange was a MS thing?
He can log into his google account and access the admin dashboard as well but I could not identify an option to deal with the hosted email account for resetting the pwd.
I couldn't locate the option in the Admin dashboard to request support.
I enabled "Allow low trust apps" access (something along those lines), still didn't change a thing.
His computer through Outlook (O365) can access the email through IMAP (with imap.gmail.com/smtp.gmail.com) whilst the server on the phone was m.google.com.
He's now managing the account himself, though I think his ex had initially setup things originally.
Does phone support exist for Google since he's a paying customer?

My gut tells me that this will be solved in the same way I've had to do it for free Gmail users, and that's to remove third party access for the email clients (or cluster of Apple services) and go through the OAUTH process again from scratch.

1. Go to https://myaccount.google.com/security (or its analog)
2. On that page, Your connections to third-party apps & services, section, hit the link for See All Connections (or its analog).
3. Find the entry for Apple (the entry for Microsoft is "Microsoft apps & services" and I expect something similar for Apple) and open it.
4. On that page, at the bottom, will be the option to delete all connections for that service. Do just that.

Then go back to the devices and try re-adding those accounts, which forces you through the Google OAUTH process again. Nuke 'em first if necessary so you start with a clean slate.

Apple mail does have support for MS-Exchange protocol.

The password problem may still remain?

This announcement says 3/14/25 is the date that all 3rd party apps will require OAUTH... Then if you follow the link to their blog, there is this entry:

[Update - April 29, 2025]: Less Secure Apps will no longer be supported as of May 1, 2025.

You said he can log in to the account, or at least that's how I understood you, which means there is no password problem.

All Apple devices of even kinda-sorta recent vintage have supported Google OAUTH for quite some time.

Thanks to @HCHTech for that Google Announcement: Transition from less secure apps to OAuth. I knew it was already in force but had no "chapter and verse" to cite to prove it.
