Mac Pro 2013 - can't run any app

Here would be how I write this one up... solely from a service advisor perspective:

Here would be the dispositions if it were me (customer signature):
Customer approved replacement of unsupported, end-of-life Mac laptop and authorized purchase of new hardware with data transfer/migration services.

Old hardware returned to customer. Data wipe service was offered but declined, customer assumes all responsibility for data security and proper disposal of the retired device.

Service declined. Due to the device’s unsupported, end-of-life status and lack of ongoing security/vulnerability updates, the shop is unable to perform repairs to return the system to service. Replacement hardware and data transfer/migration services were offered, but the customer declined.

Unit returned unrepaired. No charge.

If you are really going to repair it anyway (I wouldn't):

Customer declined recommendation to replace unsupported, end-of-life Intel Mac laptop and requested repair/redeployment as-is. Customer acknowledges lack of security updates and potential vulnerabilities.

Repair performed at customer’s direction. Customer acknowledges, shop assumes no responsibility for limitations, security risks, or future incompatibility related to unsupported status.

Simple solution.

You sell customer a new Apple Laptop with Apple Silicon …

You upgrade them from Logic Pro X to Logic Pro
Yeah, but...
It's a customer's who uses it to process some musical library components created with a software that is no longer compatible with the newer versions of the software.
She also has a new MacBook with the latest version of the software she uses but she still needs to access the older library which is compatible only up to High Sierra.

@Rigo Where did you wind up on this. I just got an email from a customer who has an older macbook air that recently did an os update and now almost all of his files have become un-openable pdf, doc, excel, etc
Curious before I attempt to get the machine and look at it. Of course no recent time machine backup

I could boot from a USB connected High Sierra SSD, backed up everything except system data, restart from installation USB stick, diskutil to clear the internal drive and clean installed the OS of choice.
I had tested from the USB HS drive that files that couldn't open natively would open from the target drive boot, so the data I assumed was ok.
Weird that 2 repair installs couldn't overcome the OS corruption. Macs don't use registries as far as I know.
I've re-installed her original Logic Pro X from the Applications folder and she'll be coming so we can test.
Don't feel like learning how to use this once only encountered software to troubleshoot it.
