Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canucks!

Can't wait for it to be over, so I can get back to work. It's made for a 4-day-long weekend and the boredom is killing me. Not enough that I want to join the 300,000 people celebrating Canada Day on the Hill today in 30C sunshine with risk of thunderstorms (and a 40C Humidex).

My family and I will be spending the hot afternoon poolside at a friend's place. Hey Rosetta!, a band that I love, is doing a free concert just before the fireworks in Fredericton, so we'll be heading in for that.

Not me, and I live here. Never been to it, actually, although I hear it's terrific from everyone that has. Just way too many people, usually too hot, and one has to take a bus to it as driving/parking is restricted or a nightmare. Those who did attend were lucky that a storm front that ripped through the region with winds over 100KM just missed Parliament Hill as it drifted northward, causing lots of damage to neighbouring towns.

All too quiet here but that's because someone in my neighbourhood was setting off firecrackers at random and one of my dogs is cowardly. So, one would go off and I'd try to get some things done while comforting her...repeat...repeat....
