Does anyone know what data Google Earth stores in "C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Google\Google Earth" that would end up using 5 GB of storage? normal use I have seen ranges from 50 MB to 500 MB but 5 GB leaves me saying "WTF?! was this moron doing"

It SHOULD be the Google Earth cache file (dbCache.dat I think it was). Google earth caches the images of all the locations hes visited. From what I remember, mine was about 300mb or so. The size of the cache file can be changed to a smaller amount (im assuming he bumped his up in the past to allow it to get to 5gig). Here are the steps I stole from another site:

How do I change my Memory Cache Settings in Google Earth?
A: To best see the Flyover photos of the Campus and the Bread Loaf Campus in Google Earth, we suggest that you change the memory cache settings in the Google Earth client application. Before adjusting these settings, make sure your computer meets the requirements listed above.

2. Open the Google Earth application.
3. Click the Tools menu in Google Earth.
4. Under the Tools menu, click Options.
5. Click the Cache tab in the Google Earth Options dialog.
6. Set the Memory Cache Size to at least one half of your total RAM or system memory. See the sections above to determine your total RAM. For example, if your total RAM is equivalent to the required value of 512 MB, enter 256 MB in the Memory Cache Size field.
7. Set the Disk Cache Size to at least 1024 MB. See the sections above to determine how much Hard Disk space you have available.
8. Click the Clear memory cache button.
9. Click the Clear disk cache buttn.
10. Click Apply Settings.
11. Click OK.

I doubt he could figure that out but then agian it would explain why he would give it such a rediculous limit. This was on the network at work and was being stored on the server as part of his roaming profile. We decided no one gets Google Earth anymore at work. I was just wondering how they managed that kind of size. The folder I looked in was full of .tmp files and Im not sure just what his was capped at if it was capped at all.
