You know, after a virus infection, and lot of stuff in Windows can be disabled by the virus...well I found this neat app that consolidates lots of fixes into one place:

http://www.tangosoft.co.uk/re-enable v2.html

Get the Portable version, as it doesn't require the .net framework. It's like 22 MB, but it's handy.

Add to this all the tools SuperAntiSpyware has in its Repairs menu, and you're pretty much set.

Be aware that Re-enable is only free for personal and non-commercial use.

Many of the tools are like this.

If I am using it for business do they think I am rich, lol. I am more broke now then when I worked full time. Granted I am just starting out but still I love how people think your rich just because you own a business.

Sent an email to the owner of the Re-Enable tool, asking if there was a technician's license, and got this reply:

Hi ,thanks for using it ,No theres not any license but feel free to use it as u wish

:D I like this guy already. He does accept donations though...and for how handy the tool is...well you know...

He probably put that on their almost like by default, thinking maybe at some point he would be selling this or something, but really doesnt care to... or maybe if he allowed it for use for corporation he would be held liable if any issues arose (then again a simple disclaimer should cover that)... works for me though.

And although i feel that most of these enables are present in either the various Quick Fix XP or Vista or 7 or other softwares out there, this is a quick and easy program.

the one thing it doesn't look like it does is remove IE's proxy check mark that screws with peoples ability to get online with IE when infected.

easy enough to do manually though
