So some new guy asks a slightly broad question. Do we really need 2 pages of sarcastic replies? That doesn't seem like the most constructive way of dealing with anything.

If you think the OP is a non-tech then why not just ask politely to check, refuse to help making the grounds clear or just ignore the question. There is no need or benefit to a mob forming. I think it just makes the forum look like an unfriendly and snide place myself.

I am 100% up for excluding non-techs from most parts of the forum but there are ways of doing it that I personally prefer.

In all fairness, many/most of the comments were made before that post which was most likely in response to the treatment he received in this one.

I think if the op would have stated his question and put, what he would have done first, then asked what we would have done or what he should changed with his process.

This did get out of hand and a bit funny same with the other post. I deserve a 6 hour ban for my comments.
