Hi guys,

I've sucessfully installed XP on a gateway ml3108b laptop (given to my brother) that originally had vista on it but had not enough ram.

However, according to the device manager, it's missing the coprocessor, audio, wifi and ethernet drivers. I've looked for the drivers on the gateway support site but the only drivers I can find are for vista.

Can anyone help? If so I'd really appreciate some advise.

Thanks

Jacob

Hmmm, this is a really tricky one, if only there was a method anyone could use to find these missing drivers.

Are you sure you're ready to go it alone in computer repair? Maybe plumbing would be easier.

OOPS! I walked into that one! Sorry!

OOPS! I am sorry mate! I walked into that one didn't I?

I should have explained that I had googled them but I wasn't sure they were the right drivers. I was hoping that one of you more experienced techs could validate the information I've already found.

I'm sorry if I came across as being lazy by giving the impression I'd not already googled it.

With regards to my pc repair experience, I've been doing it for a while now as a favour to friends and family (after having worked in a pc repair shop for a short period), but I've learned NEVER to take anything for granted and NEVER to assume that the information I have is correct unless it has been validated by other professionals like you guys.

For those of you wondering what the reference to plumbing was about, I had been toying with the idea of doing a plumbing course and so I joined a plumbing forum.
However after fixing 2 pc's and 2 laptops in a 48hr period, myself and my wife thought I was better off using the experience I already had in repairing computers than trying to learn a trade that was completely new to me.

Thanks for your help anyway guys,

Jacob
