Obviously not a high priority, but I had my first call on Windows Live Mail in many months today. And it's broken by 2004, but the fix is rather easy according to this thread:

TL:DR

Regedit:

In the registry under

Computer \ HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows Live Mail

Create these 3 DWORD entries (were not available for me) or change to 1 if they exist

RecreateFolderIndex = 1
RecreateStreamIndex = 1
RecreateUIDLIndex = 1

Restart Windows Live Mail. Then the message display goes back to normal for me and the 3 values in the registry are reset to 0.

I've used this development to finally force some of my clients off of WLM 2012.

Long overdue, in my opinion, and I liked WLM as a simple e-mail client. But continuing to use out-of-support software, particularly that is regularly in touch with cyberspace, is just asking for trouble.

Thanks, however, for this info.
