This time Apple's brought upon 2 iPhone choices, iPhone 6 with 4.7-inch screen and iPhone 6 Plus with even larger 5.5-inch screen. Choosing one from them maybe hard for some, like me. So, let's talk about your ideas: which one will you buy?
What's more, I also wanna know your ideas about playing DVD movies on iPhones, is that really awesome as advertised?

:D

No self respecting tech would ever buy an iphone, the technology is 2 years old at best. if you want something of that spec i believe the google nexus7 was similar specifications ;)

Waits for the back lash :) lol:rolleyes:

I support customers with iphones and repair them on a daily basis mate, but i would never own an apple device. i just cant bring myself to take a 3 year tech step back

I don't do Iphone repairs, it's just when I'm onsite doing laptop/internet issues etc I'm asked if I know about iPhones/iPads email, AirPrint that sort of thing. It pays me to be up to speed with them.

For what it's worth, iPhones are the easiest of OSX/Android devices to setup, maintain, and support. We have more corp client's using them than Android. They have less problems with Exchange connectivity than Android devices, and have a more intuitive user interface.

I get it. Haters always gonna hate and everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how wrong.:D

I support both in a corporate environment, both are equally easy to setup and maintain in exchange.

For the new phones, Unless they want the massive size of the 6 plus, the 6 is probably the way to go. It's already a big size increase from the 5S to get used to.

I don't buy the intuitive stuff, it doesn't take a user very long to master either.

I have both, but my daily driver is an LG G3. More options on Android and too many restrictions on iOS for my use.

Agreed. Both are equally as easy. Guess you have to have a fan boy every time the word Apple is mentioned.

In fact, iOS corporate activations have dropped 5% in a single quarter.
Apple’s iOS still rules the enterprise space, even after having fallen 5 percentage points to 67 percent of total device activations in Q2 2014. Android device activations increased the same amount to 32 percent of total activations last quarter, while Windows Phone activations remain consistent with the five previous quarters: flat at 1 percent.
Article: iOS drops to 67% enterprise share in Q2 2014, Android grows to 32%, and Windows Phone stays flat at 1%

Then you have this:
The iPhone 6 Had Better Be Amazing And Cheap, Because Apple Is Losing The War To Android
The question is not merely academic. In Q4 2013, according to research firm IDC, Google's Android mobile operating system had a 78% share of all users globally. Apple's iOS had just 18%. Now, IDC predicts that in 2014 Android will claim 80.2% of users and only 14.8% will be on Apple's iOS system. Mobile app revenue is growing faster on Android than Apple, also, according to Distimo. It's the same situation — Android growing faster — in mobile ads, according to Opera Mediaworks.

So, you see when you actually have data to back up your claims it looks like the market is deciding on Android. Hater's may hate, but just because your a "lover" doesn't mean your opinion is right.

I am pretty agnostic, I own, use and support Macs, Windows, iPhones, Androids, Blackberrys, Linux. whatever a customer wants to pay me to work on.

But in the years I have been doing this, 2 things equally baffle me:

1. The unmitigated love for all things Apple.

2. The unmitigated hate for all things Apple.

They are nice products, well designed and work well, but they have their flaws and problems like any other.

And Apple is just a corporation, like Microsoft, Google, Intel, Disney, whatever. They are not sent from heaven or from the devil. They are here to make money in the best way they know how.

PS. but I do have a little dark spot in my heart for HP.

Honestly? Neither right now.

I have the iPhone 5S myself and although I love it, I barely use all the features that they talk about. I like it because its simple and easy to use it and allows to keep up with watching Youtube Videos, read articles and listen and watch sports.

If you really need to get one. Choose the iPhone 6, unless Phablets are your thing.

No offense but listening to people fight over smartphones is such a joke....they all suck...if this world wasn't sooooooo addicted to them, we wouldn't be getting raped over the monthly charges and crazy purchase prices for the phones....all of this smartphone hooey is crazy.....and im not even 40 years old yet and I love technology. I'm stuck in the home office all day, and dont get to leave very often so i wont own one, not paying such a crazy price because they can charge it when people line up for a darn phone!!! This is all crazy, remember not having cell phones....everything was just fine, even for a tech!!!!

I can chat with china on my pc all day in video chat for next to nothing, but over $100 a month for a phone, this world is crazy to pay that. I know im the odd man out, but I don't care. I won't get a smartphone until the prices are reasonable and with the average person lining up to get ripped off, that aint happening any time soon! I get having one if you support them, but I'm a one man shop, too busy with pc's to take on phones.

I understand completely.

Why would I want a computer in my pocket that is always connected to the internet, and can communicate with almost anyone at any time in multiple ways?

Why would I want to pay for something that lets my customers reach me when they need me, allows me to remotely fix some of their problems, or research a solution on the spot?

Oh and it takes pictures, too.

The devices cost around $700, which is not that unreasonable considering what they do, but you can spread the payments over 2 years. I pay $50 a month for the service, and it's worth every penny to me. Sure, the mobile companies are jerks, but I make a lot more because I have the phone, so you put up with it.

If I was in an office all day, with a land line and a computer, I might think different, but I go where my customers are and my phone helps me do a better job.

I totally agree with the use and function of them, just not the price and demand. We are overpaying for the service and item due to demand, thats all I'm saying. When I leave the home office, I can't wait to unplug. I don't service clients after hours and I don't go onsite, otherwise, I'd have one. I'm also the guy who could care less with social media, I talk to my friends on the phone or in person so if I HAVE to make a facebook post, it can wait til I get home. I'm not against the smartphone, but the addictive nature of them and the prices.

They arent bad, but the usage is....look at a restaurant...everyone sitting there ignoring each other on their phones. People chat and message all day, and rarely see each other anymore. Sit at an intersection and watch drivers....I did at lunch at a busy intersection, it was 7 of of 10 on the phone. In college my buddys mom died from an idiot on a cell phone during a car wreck. Are those conversations worth the lost lives.....

People look at them like its more important than shelter and food. I see people who cant even afford a car or a decent apt....but they have the new iphone 6 or whatever......heck I see kids in 4th 5th grade using $300 plus phones. Its all just perspective, and obviously mine doesn't match the majority of the worlds.

I agree on the price.

For my Verizon plan I have an iPhone 4S, a Motorola Droid 4 and a old as crap samsung flip phone. I have "grandfathered" unlimited 3G data on my phone, 2GB of data on the Droid 4 and the flip phone has no data.

I get 700 min per month to share between the three lines, and unlimited text on the phones.

My bill is $185 per month, and honestly I think that's WAY too much. And that's only because of the 17% discount I get through work, otherwise it would be $210 a month.

I think tops the smart phones should be $45 a month and the flip phone should be $20. I feel I'm overpaying $75 a month for what I'm getting.

Now as far as the phone itself goes, it's a fantastic tool. It's very handy for a large number of reasons. People being less "social" in person and being more social electronically isn't the phones fault. People can make that choice.

All I can say to those who are complaining about the price is.. get out and vote for the people that are NOT for full-on privatization. If you don't want gov regulation, are ok with everyone's price collusion, monopoly mergers and don't want cell phones to be treated as a public utility... well, that's what you get. Same goes for ISP's. Other countries have VERY low costs for cell phone service.. and believe me most of these companies are spending pennies for their service to you, not $100's.
