Yeah, but the CableCARD feature alone is worth it.
The only thing is this thing is NOT for gaming since it only has 256MB of memory

Although- who needs gaming when you have a PS3/XBox 360/Wii?

You make an iso of your dvd and copy it to box it is no bigger than 4 hd stacked plays every format out there never had a single file that didn't play on it.

MKV playback is amazing looks like blu-ray.
$396.38 US with 1.5 tb sata hd. comes with a remote and cables.

Yes but can you carry it with you on vacation? or bring it to relatives and friends place? my unit is tiny fits in a small tote bag actually when i got it came with a nylon tote bag it also doubles as a usb external drive and has a car kit you can install it in a car has very low current/voltage requirements.

The Apex MI-008 is a meager 11.80" x 8.70" x 5.1". That can fit in a shoebox.
Or- you can also consider getting a netbook with ION graphics and a USB TV tuner.

But I guess it's about convenience. Although then again...it's a HOME Theater PC. not a Portable Theater PC.

It plays anything without having to convert and has 320gb hd for lots of video
also has a dock:

it has a built in pvr records off of cable and sat let see ipod do that plays back on tv in HD let see ipod do that.

But, buried as useless since it doesn't have built in spatula and it doesn't make waffles. nor can it race in the Indy-500.

On a more serious note...DAMN that thing is awesome.
