@ purple_minion
I could not agree with you more. It is very refreshing to see a little common sense now and then.

I'm not saying you don't have common sense. What I'm saying is that sometimes we can get wrapped up in the things we like and want, and they start to look like things that are necessary and needed.
Exactly right. I have not found a single useful ( for me ) thing that can be done on Vista that XP has not been able to do for years, and do much faster and with less system resources. Sure, any 32 bit OS is going to have a RAM cut off at about 3.5 gigs, so what? Have you seen how fast XP can be on just 512-one gig? I'll put an XP machine running 2 gigs against a Vista box with 4 gigs any day in real world speed ( not just benchmark numbers ).
Very well said. I have also been reading that Norton 2009 is much lighter and faster than versions past. But I wont recommend it to anyone for a long time. It will need to prove itself for a few years to restore its rep.

I ask you how in the world did people get along before vista? I bet they figured something out and it's now working away right? So why screw that up?

Also about norton, I used to be a fan of them way back in the day. But seriously, you as a professional, if you treated your clients like crap, worked slow and overbilled them do you think they would ever come back to you? How many products won't you touch or buy because of a bad reputation? Care to buy an emachine? How about a magnovox? The only thing that works for companies is reputation, it's what gets you repeat business. You screw the customer and they don't come back. Customer is always right, guess what that phrase is really for, not because you believe they are right, it's because you want them to come back! I hear it preached over and over and over on here, word of mouth is the best advertising, etc. Reputation! Same reason rehabilitated pedophiles have such a hard time in society, their track record, their reputation.
