I've removed a virus from a laptop but the virus seems to have damaged the licencing system.
After I'd removed it, I couldn't get access to Control Panel and other functions. I know this can be caused by the licence service so I restarted this which usually solves it. It did but then on reboot Vista wanted a licence key entered. It won't accept the key on the back of the laptop which is the same key which was in use in Windows according to Keyfinder.
I went through the automated telephone service and entered the numbers etcfor the licencing wicard and these were accepted but the key I got back doesn't work.
Is there any way around this other than a reinstall?
