This isn't only VoIP to VoIP - you can call/receive ANY number (non 900#) in US or CAN
Yes that is right, everything can be free if you know where to start looking! To all out there who said it was impossible or impractical a couple years back:p

YOU CAN ALSO DO VIDEO PHONE!!!
ONE MACHINE - MULTIPLE LINES!!!
What is needed:
-Broadband/high speed Internet connection (router w/ QoS is a major +plus!)
-computer P4 2.5GHz+ w/ 1GB ram, 10GB Hdd min - VM is possible maybe
-Microphone & speakers; headset w/ mic, PATS adapter, webcam if you want video

What is provided:
-local phone number(s), as many as needed, available to call any and all non-pay # within US & Canada - Unlimited calls (both making and receiving calls)
-Dynamic IP resolution capable - FREE ACCOUNT!!!
-Current local numbers can be ported and transfered to machine but at this point CAN NOT make free calls - only new numbers can. (call forwarding from old number to new may be inexpensive temporary option).
This could save a business $1,000's to 10's of thousands of dollars if utilized correctly!

I spent the last two + days, solid, working on this setup and I finally have it perfected. I'm tired. This has been 30 months of chasing my tail and following anecdotal stories which seemed fishy and who's results never bore fruit until this cram session. It looks like it was worth it though! This system is REALLY AWESOME for being totally free (except machine hardware - but VM is possible).

So do you think you might be able to sell the setup of a service like this? I'm going to be looking at the cost to build a system which would support this setup, which is the absolute most inexpensive products on the market at this point - but if it is going to a business I'd like to have new hardware and possibly RAID 1 depending upon the business. The hardware can be discussed per application.

I guess since the service is free, there couldn't be a monthly charge or anything, or you might be able to do something like: Hardware + Setup (customize this per customer request) & offer a $9.99 monthly service/maintenance fee for $69.99 up front (this could generate calls to setup call que's, messages, etc - think of all that is in a phone menu at a business).

I'm willing to do the building and individual config - ship to you and you install on site. If you have any problems I can remote in and do it all remotely if needed. Splitting the profits can be discussed but if I build and config and you do sales and setup, that is 2 jobs each, each one being as critical as the other so I'm thinking 50/50 ATM... Everything is negotiable.

Virtual Machines.. Take everything I said above and apply what you know about VM's to it. It has been done many times with VoIP PBX'x and it is fine. This runs into problems with business that I won't support ATM. Any enterprising individual can figure this all out on their own, I won't go any further into it.

Please let me know if you have any interest in this. I'll take people in the order they come:D.

I am mostly interested in your provider that apparently has free unlimited incoming and outgoing for my own use. I don't really plan on setting up VoIP that much. If it is some sort of hack (like through Google Voice or something, which is what I do now for free in/out calls) I can see it screwing up. I am currently with a company that basically charges 1 cent a minute, which is practically nothing. If it is a SIP direct call, I costs 0.1 cents a minute.

Eh sounds a little too good to be true. The cheapest VoIP provider I could find is $0.03/minute and $0.05 toll free as well as $1/month for a phone number.

Whoever's providing your telephony service must have some sort of business plan in order to keep up with the infrastructure. If I remember- it costs at least $10,000 to get your own "Line into the network" and that's just the basics. How does your provider plan on making this money back.

I know VoIP providers can make money on incoming calls, it is the outgoing that is the problem.

IPKall is making money off the settlements. Settlements are a telco concept for balencing out the "caller pays" model of phone calls. Since the caller pays for a call, the phone company that originates the call gets money from the customer. The company terminating the call doesn't collect any money from the customer. So the terminating telco is paid by a settlement from the originating company to the terminating company. Since IPKall only receives long distance calls (it never originates them) that's how they make money.

As for my VoIP provider, voip.ms was mentioned on here a week or so ago and I signed up for them. Great quality so far. My hack: Google Voice -> IPKall number -> voip.ms subaccount SIP address = free incoming. Free outgoing is by using Google Voice to call out, otherwise I would pay $0.0125/min (Premium Routes).

Again, the setup is a hack and I expect some part of the route to fall apart eventually.

Obhi100 or Obhi110 for the win =)...cancel vonage and say bye to magic jack

I would be interested in taking a look at what you are talking about. PM Me

thank you

Can you PM me some more info on this also. I would be interested in getting something like this set up for some of my business clients.

The only thing that scares me about VOIP services is they pop-up and disappear all the time, if your number is through them directly and they go under your number is likely gone.

I personally used Google Voice for incoming calls, but I notice extra delay so I got an account on Voip.MS and I'm very happy with it. In/Out calls are like 1.5 cents per minute or so, not terrible.

I can say that I'm not really surprised with the responses I've gotten, nor the offers I've received or not.

All I have to say is if you want to know the VoIP provider, I'll sell a system for $600. There is no advertising and won't be any advertising. The company is very stable and is going no where (meaning the VoIP provider).

This is the forum I read 90% of the time for tech services and I've put together this system from reading various parts of posts, so everything is here if you do reading as I have. I've been told to "go use google" to find my answer and I can say the same now or you can buy a system. Unlimited free calling with the only limitation being the bandwidth of your ISP, well that can be a very profitable investment if used correctly.

So, unless you are PM'ing with interest in buying I am not going to divulge my sources for the provider. All I can say is most people would consider it a very stable and trust-able company.

Bait & Switch.........

Who is baiting and switching, me or the VoIP provider?

I'm sure the same thing was said when Yahoo and hotmail offered 2gb of free email as well! This isn't that much different than offering large email accounts, it is all bandwidth utilization, just in different forms. I could send 15gb of data through Gmail or yahoo per day if I wanted and not get charged so why wouldn't this translate to VoIP? If yo uknow how to use Gmail you can bundle as many accounts to gether as you like and make one massive online storage location if you wished. You could link say 100 accounts together for a 800GB online storage drive that is mapped to your PC just like any local or network drive. You can also hack it to use google voice for free as well. There is a lot of free things if you know how to do it. It just takes time and energy to get it working.

The Company's like Yahoo and Gmail get their money off of advertising.... How would the VOIP Provider offer their service for free without ad's? And with Ad's well it would then be worthless....... So how are they expecting to make money without ad's??

I have not advertising or ads on my Gmail account, Google drive or Yahoo email.

I'm not going to argue the point. It's free, it's working for me and hopefully for some customers soon as well.

Sorry, this is against the rules.
