Did I read on here that you guys had issues with Toshiba Satellite's not wanting to boot from a Zalman? Seems that I did somewhere awhile back.

Power is on the USB port the whole time during boot; I changed settings in bios as well as f12/boot & no way will this thing boot from the Zalman.

So far, I've had about a 50% success rate with this unit on the repairs I have been doing. Not good odds. :o

Did you pull the internal CDROM out? Dell's and Toshiba's have a hard time enumerating 2 CDROMs at boot time. Making the Zalman is the only way most times.

Wow - I did not know that. I am doing updates on that laptop right now. When it is finished I will give that a try.

My t rusty tosh satellite pro u400 and some of the dells needs the double usb lead to boot a zalman. Sometimes need another laptop to jump start it with the additional power cable if the host pc dosnt have enough amps:( Still carry cds / boot usbs because of this minor problem.
also found the setting dell boot device options can be very fussy when trying to use zal in Dual mode.
