The Recycle Bin on G:\ is corrupted. Do you want to empty the Recycle Bin for this drive?

Have a client who is continually getting this error at boot, referring to a WD external drive. I've fixed it twice by opening an administrative command prompt and running this command: rd /s /q G:\$Recycle.bin

Both times, the system appears to be fixed, no error after several restarts. Both times, the client has called me back the next day to say the issue is back. Any ideas? Bad drive? It's the type of WD portable drive that's encrypted, with a password lock - is that relevant? The system is clean as far as I know. It's an older system running Windows 10.

Thanks for any suggestions.

How about pulling everything off, re-partitioning the drive, put it back. Personally I don't like disabling the recycle bin.
