Mod Request: I've accidently posted this in Advertising, Marketing and Sales when it belongs in Advertising Critique. Can someone please move this?

Hello Technibble. So I've finally got around to completing my logo set for Nerds for Hire. For the longest time I've been using only the one in my signature and I've been bumping into occasions where I need a slightly different logo. So I've finally completed my Nerds for Hire logo set.

Here it is, and please judge me harshly as possible.

Descriptions:

Top Left: Full Color - Dark (For use with light backgrounds)
Top Right: Flat Color - Dark (For use with light backgrounds)
Middle Left: Full Color - Light (For use with dark backgrounds)
Middle Right: Flat Color - Light (For use with dark backgrounds)
Bottom Left: Greyscale (For use in B&W Prints)
Bottom Right: Black & White (For use in a Fax, or other 1-color application)

It has been moved.

I like the one in the middle, on the left. :D
Wheres your mascot-dude gone ?

Thanks for the move Methical.

I was forced to remove him since another company who's name I forgot (Lisa told me about them I believe) has something eerily similar to Moe (Full Name E. Moe Ticon) So I had to put him to rest.

For those of you who are wondering, here is Moe and the accompanying logo to go with it.

Yes he was a pimp, but never at work, so besides the Technibble members- no one ever saw him during his off hour job. He's also Santa, so it's best off that no one ever seen him in that other hat.

I really like your logo. Its easy to read, the composition is visually appealing, and Moe is a fun and potentially very versatile addition to the Company image.

You said be 'harsh' but honestly, cudos to you for the design. I think it rocks! :)

Thanks a lot. I wish I were allowed to use Moe though without risking getting sued into oblivion. Like I said before someone else already has a mascot that looks very similar to Moe. However, if I modify him a bit- maybe I can...nah, it's just not worth the risk. Sorry Moe.

Fwiw I think a design form along those lines may be worth pursuing

One option might be to get something made up with a degree of differentiation and obtain something in writing from the owner of the moe image recognising the distinction

Just a thought

Whatever you decide great work with the logo and the character concept

Wasn't me who told you that, I am not a brand expert (although I wish I was LOL)

I remember the Moe icon, no wonder your username was "new" to me when you came back.

Looks familiar to me..

Wow! I'm guessing I'm the guy with the similar logo? I realize this was posted a couple months ago, but I'm new here and browsing.

GrizzledVet:

No disrespect meant but your web site's appearance doesn't look as professional as I'm sure your service capabilities are.

Btw, and just to clarify, this is not part of Round 1! :D

No, not cluttered, just looks aged imo.

Thanks. I'm always happy to get input from others in the industry. I had the site designed about a year ago...worked out a trade with a web designer for some server work. I've been getting a lot of business from it, so I'm not super-motivated to redo it just yet. Plus, I have several other keyword-rich domains that I'm developing with WP.
