For those who are looking to build, and help build, the total number of Likes a place has on FB, looks like this bears repeating:

LIKING A BUSINESS PAGE FROM YOUR BUSINESS PAGE DOESN'T COUNT.
Only Likes from people count so you have to like them as You, not your business.

Hey BartramPCRepair thanks for going in and liking everyone else's pages before asking for a like for yourself. However, I'm afraid you may have to go back again and re-like with your personal facebook account. A page's likes do not increase when liked by another page.

Best to like it with your personal page anyway to support your friends rather than your competition. This thread is awesome. I will visit when I'm back on my computer and throw everyone a like.

Liked everyone I could from all 12 pages of this thread. Sad to see that some pages no longer exist. Others updated to new pages throughout the thread. Some people posted twice. I'd go in, and I'd already liked that page. Some people didn't have many likes, and others had a bunch. The most I saw was like 749 and that guy had put an arrow pointing at the "like" button that stated he gave discounts for those who had liked him on Facebook. Seem to be working. Nice tip. So...here's mine. I'm working solely from Facebook right now until I get my site built. GREAT networking.

That's strange, I did "like" from my personal page. I'm seeing updates now from some of those I've "liked".

I returned the like directly through FB before seeing this post. You're at 32 likes, do you know what you were at before? BTW, I'm in Louisiana as well! Lafayette to be exact.
