I use Facebook regularly, and it's basically the only marketing method I use regularly. Most of my customers use Facebook (Twitter is not so popular here). I rarely get jobs just because of Facebook, but it keeps the name out there. I'm a one man show with my fiancee assisting, and with all the personal projects that I'll be having during this year, I cannot afford more work.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you guys are hurting yourself by exchanging likes. Facebook only allows you to access 10% of the total "people who have liked your page" for free. Technibble has 2894 likes on its page yet I can only reach 289-ish of you for free. This is one of the reasons why I encourage email address collection.

The problem with liking eachothers page is that you dilute that total 10% with people who wont convert (other technicians). Keep your Facebook likes customers only, dont get seduced by vanity metrics.

Good point! I believe this all made sense back when the thread was created. Facebook and social media in general has changed a bit since then.
