I have a laptop in. The client has worked with BT and Microsoft. For an outlook corrupt profile for the past week. - Now I have it on my bench.

I setup a new profile. set up their BT address (Imap) all working. reboot the laptop. and then problem comes back. hard drive is fine, no infection.

Web mail is working

Options clean install of Office but I did that last month of the same problem or time to move them to Hosted Exchange (we have a domain we use for small clients).

Running Windows 7 - Outlook 2016 (365)

We used to get this when the client closed outlook and rebooted the pc. Outlook.exe was staying in RAM though not visible on screen and the reboot killed it half way through whatever it was doing to the pst, causing a long repair the next time it started.

The answer was to wait until outlook.exe goes from task list before rebooting, or leave outlook open while you click shutdown/restart. Outlook must act differently when closed as part of a shutdown in this way because it exits quickly without corrupting the PST
