Number of computers per week

Hello Everyone. I am new to the form and just opened my first computer repair shop in the LA, CA area. Its been really slow however I have only been open for a month and just started advertising. I was wondering from all the established business owners. How many computer "walk ins" (repairs) do you get a week or day at your shop.

Welcome. Where in LA are you?
Where I am in Glendale, there are 5 shops within 1.5 miles of my home. And I'm not near the business district. There always seems to be 1 going out of business and another opening. Plus all the freelancers, part timers and whatever, it's hard to build a business around here based on removing malware and doing basic repairs.

But, there's always room for a well run business that takes care of its customers. You just need to find a way to stand out and offer something different/better.

Good luck.

I used to live in Glendale. My shop is in West Hollywood to be exact. I do on site repairs and eventually plan on offering Monthly service plans for local businesses and residents. I was just curious in general as to how many repairs a shop gets on a daily or weekly basis.

Thanks 16k_zx81 but I just become a member and it will not allow me to view the link you sent me. It states that I must have a minimum of 5 posts and be an user for more than 5 days to view the post.

Hey hamlet, how long have been a tech?

EDIT: I was trying to give you your 5th post, but I skimmed over your last post and did not see that you had to be a member for 5 days as well. Forgot about that little detail. To answer your question though, peoples monthly average ranged from 10 to 300. Ours is around 70.

I've been a tech fore over 12 years. I was a help desk agent for Indymac bank until they went bankrupt. I was a JR admin for a fairly large corporation until I decided to open my own shop last month. I was tired of the corporate world and the unfair treatment, favoritism and instability. I have been laid off from too many company's not because of my performance but mainly because they went out of business. I gave up on the corporate world and decided to use my skills and become self employed. March is the second month that I've been in business. I am located in a shopping center which is an advantage and a fairly high income area. My flyers are going out by USPS tomorrow and hopefully that will get some recognition for me. This is my first official advertisement for the business since I started. I understand that it takes a few months to pick up however I have never worked at a "computer repair" shop therefore I do not know the volume of repairs that generally come in on a daily basis. I know that it can vary but I just wanted a rough estimate from fellow business owners.

16k_zx81 - would you be able to tell me the exact title of the post. I will be able to pull it up and view it that way.
