New to soldering and want to learn. Aoyue 2703a+?

Jimbo, we all got our styles and our own preferences.

I like grape kool-aide and you like orange. In the end, its all the same sugar and artificial flavoring.

You'll pick up what works for you as you start to learn to solder. Try a little of everything, see what works for you, and you'll do fine. It takes practice to get the art down, and once you do, the solder will just flow perfectly every time.

Alright, the Aoyue 2703a+ checks out well it seems. I've ordered it! Now i just need to learn enough about it to make it pay for itself multiple times over. All of your tips and video postings have been helpful.

Thanks,

Dan

Now you need to buy a good tip cleaner (forget the stupid sponge thing they send you), tip tinner, a paste flux, a liquid flux, a spool of good solder (I am partial to super solder alloy 60 / 0.8mm) and a bottle of Goof Off. After that its up to you what else you need like dental tools, small vice grips, clippers/cutters, etc..
