Hey all,

What do you use to automate the un-installation of multiple applications in a Windows environment?

Anything free with licensing that can be used on a client's computer?

Anything paid that allows for use on a client's computer?

Looking to be able to select a bunch of applications, hit uninstall, walk away, come back 15 minutes later, and move on with the rest of the setup.

Thanks!

Just tried IOBIT - yes you can click each one - but then you still have to jump through the removal prompts.

Didn't know UVK has that ability - and WMIC is new to me... off to try those =)

If the applications are in chocolaty, you can install them first and then uninstall them. It's a roundabout method, but it is zero touch and reliable (wmic is ok, but it is not always reliable).

@oaklabs - You sorta lost me there...

UVK with unattended actually hung up on some simple uninstalls.

WMIC I will try next.

(I am testing on brand new Acer workstations that have come LOADED with crap - 35 applications + 40 games)

So, I assume you've seen https://chocolatey.org/ before. Most people use it to automate the install of applications. However, it can automate the removal of applications it has installed. Therefore, if you re-install the bloatware that Chocolatey supports with chocolatey, you can do a scripted removal of it.

It's not an ideal way, but as a last ditch effort it would theoretically work.

However, on new workstations, why not just export the drivers and then reinstall the OS?

Nope - never heard of it - thank you for the info!

I guess I would label myself as "late to the party" when it comes to batch uninstallers. Never really put much thought into it.

I could do an OS install on these new systems... but it is pretty much 6 of 1 or half a dozen of another.

$35 for unlimited systems and I can save precious time on uninstalling bloatware?

If you say it works as advertised I'm sold.

I've got several keys for Revo Pro if your interested.

I use Geek Uninstaller Pro. It has a "batch" uninstall, but haven't ever used it.

I use PCDecraptifier Pro but it still requires interaction to respond to the uninstaller's prompts. I should look again at RevoUninstaller Pro.

Quick\Multiple Uninstall
Another way to uninstall a program with Revo Uninstaller Pro or few programs at once is to use the Quick Uninstall command. The sequence of actions is similar to the regular Uninstall command of Revo Uninstaller Pro, but when it comes to the step where you have to review and delete the leftovers, the Quick Uninstall operation deletes the leftovers automatically reporting to you the number of deleted leftovers; and in case you have selected more than one program for uninstall, automatically starts the uninstall of the next selected program.

I use Geek Uninstaller as well. I find it to be a little quicker than Revo although both are excellent programs.

I use UVK, haven't really had any problems except for AVs, which I remove using the appropriate uninstaller (obtained using Tech Tool Store generally).
