Kill fake antiviruses by renaming

Jesus, relax.

I have had some...not all fake antivirus programs where the fast solution was to find the program and rename it. I don't know why I couldn't delete it microsoft said it was in use or something. I have been able to do this about 25% of the time. Afterwards I reboot and clean up.

As for the troll thing. I wrote this to be helpful to other techs. It is childish to throw insults. This board is for professionals to meet and exchange ideas. Not a place to insult each other. That childish behavior only discourages others to share their methods and discoveries.

I rename it to "delete" I don't rename it to delete it. When running scans I know when delete.exe the original problem has been detected.

We should all realise that it is better to rename than delete, unless we are 120% sure of our target.

That is why AV programs have vaults.

We have all seen false positives.

That's why it's useful to learn the modus operandi rather than than rely upon hunches or worse still scanning software if we are doing virus removal professionally.

I'm 100% sure we can never be 120% sure. :p
