instore TV Advertising from PC... maybe?

Hi all,

I want to setup maybe a 55" TV in my store in one or 2 places with running advertising and specials, other services we offer and so on...

Would like to see if anyone is doing this and cost effective ways to send video, and images and advertisements to the TV/s? Should I use a PC to do this? wireless options?

Any help greatly appreciated. I been doing alot of searches and coming up short.

I would create a slide show and then send the signal to the TV's with Chromecast.

It wouldn't it would stream the files to the TV.

Create a slideshow then play it through Chrome and stream to TV.

We do this. The electricity cost is minimal and it really turns heads if you buy a high quality BRIGHT panel. The downside is it doesn't look as good if the sun is shining on the window. Thankfully that's a rare occurrence and we still have paper posters in the window for when this does happen.

Maybe over the top for a single screen... and more initial setup... but once in place it couldn't be easier to manage.

Everything gets managed from a central web portal. You log into the web portal > make your changes > it gets get pushed to the device. Works with multiple devices so you can have screens in multiple stores and update them all from the same portal. I also like the scheduling feature for different slideshows to run at different times of the day.

£30-40 low power Android box, £15 for Android licence... plus the display.
Or just use a spare Windows PC you have lying around.

You may want to try using a Samsung TV with USB input that lets you access the USB data. Basically you can create a Powerpoint, Save it as a WMV file onto a USB stick, plug it in and play. You can use the Samsung Remote to control the files on the USB.
The feature is called Connect Share Movie.
I've used this on a 32" to run a presentation on a loop in the background of annual meeting type gatherings.

I have a 32" TV connected to an old Dell POS computer, yeah, really old, but it works. I used Windows Movie Maker to put images together made with Photoshop CS6, runs in Windows Media on a loop. All for the low low price of free. POS was given to me (6 actually) and when my son moved back to TN, he gave me the TV. Simple to do.

Any modern TV should have the ability to play media from a simple USB flash drive. Create your slideshow or MP4 video using your favourite editing program, copy it to your flash drive, plug it in the TV and let it loop all day. I have done this numerous times for some local businesses. Hope it helps.

Another great option is RiseVision (digital display software), free-cheap depending on what you display. Easy to set up and use.

As others have mentioned, a USB flash drive with the media files should be able to play directly on a modern TV. We have a Blu-Ray player connected to a 32" display and run our videos via the USB port on the Blu-Ray player. Works great, but whoever mans the front desk will quickly begin to despise the repetitive audio.
