LOL Windows NT wasn't all it's cracked up to be except its kernel was pretty good. Heck, they had more than six (6) service packs with the last one ending in SP6a.
 
Large companies will just out out the cash to gain extended support. Some are still struggling to get off XP

Definitely. And a couple of secure vaults to keep them in.

I've seen that with Amazon items a few times, usually for products that are out of stock at most other retailers. My guess is that rather than take down the listing when the product is out of stock, some Amazon sellers choose to set a ridiculously high price instead to deter anyone from purchasing the item. It might also be done for SEO reasons (to keep the item indexed by Google for if/when they're back in stock). I suppose if someone still went ahead and bought it, at that profit margin it would be worth spending time scouring the globe to find one in stock.
