Shuts off at random. Can be on for a few minutes or several hours before it shuts off. Fan is working properly. Removed memory one stick at a time with no change. Ran spinrite level 2 results were normal. Presently running level 4 so far so good. Anyone has any idea on what to do next?

A very good chance it's going to be the mainboard, they're notorious for overheating. Not an economical repair I'm afraid.

I must agree with iptech. We have seen several of these in our shop with the same problems due to overheating issues. Before long it probably wont come on at all. You can try using a heat gun on the gpu to make sure all the solder is making good connection, changed settings in control panel and then change the bios so that the fan never turns off. We tried this on one we had and it worked for a couple of weeks, but then went back to the same problems. Good luck with your 2000 tcrochet.

It's overheating and as the responses above indicate, you're probably doomed. Since the thing is still working, maybe try getting one of those external laptop coolers, they aren't that expensive and that might keep it working for a while.
