Flash Audio Not Working

I've got a strange issue in which flash audio will not work in a client's machine in any browser--Chrome, IE, FF, or Safari. Audio for every other aspect of the system works great, The OS is Vista x64. Things I've done:

1. Verified sys. is clean of malware. (MSE/Avast BART/SAS/MBAM/TDSSKiller/ComboFix)
2. Uninstalled/reinstalled all Flash versions with Revo. With no extra Flash plugins installed, Chrome's built-in Flash had same issue as well.
3. Uninstalled/reinstalled audio driver w/Revo.
4. Verified proper cache settings in Flash Player's settings.
5. Followed this guide: http://www.codecguide.com/fix_for_flash_sound_problems.htm
6. Tried this registry fix: http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-22335-no-sound-on-internet
7. Verified that Flash is not muted in audio mixer. (or in Flash settings/windows either)
8. Ran SFC.
9. Unistalled any codec packs/audio managers that could be taking application control.
10. Issue persists in a new, clean user account.

Nothing above helped. Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you get audio from non-flash sources on the internet?

Have you checked whether or not sound is muted for those programs?

I believe you can mute flash audio.

Yes, HTML5 audio comes through fine. And as I said already, yes I've checked that Flash is not muted in its settings and the Windows mixer.

Did the machine come in with viruses?

No, it was clean from the get-go. It came in for "wifi doesnt work and sound doesn't work on internet", so says the work ticket the girls up front made at check-in. The wifi was simply the wifi utility gone bonkers, got that working immediately.

I would contact the owner and see when the flash audio quit and then attempt a system restore to before that date.

Another option would be to clone the drive and then attempt to uninstall recently installed updates and programs.

Restore points don't go any further back than the day they brought it in.

I've already basically uninstalled every program on there as well, since I have an image backup I can just shoot right back to the HDD. Still nothing.

Thanks for that, I'll give all that a shot tomorrow.

Unfortunately, that's the same registry fix that I've tried already. Thanks though!

Aw, darn. I was so sure! :D Oh well, good luck with the other fixes on the abobe forums.

Ok, none of the aforementioned tips helped at all. This is maddening, I don't want to N&P over this... Any other ideas?

H-m-m-m....if you're getting audio with everything else except Flash then it has to be something with just Flash and I agree, you should not have to n&p just for this. In your first post, you stated you uninstalled/reinstalled all versions of Flash, how many is all?

I'm also wondering if there's something going with Vista and the Flash player...you stated 64bit, what version: Home, Ultimate???

It is Home Premium. When I say "all" I mean the ActiveX one for IE and the other version that covers FF/Opera/etc. And then, of course, Chrome manages Flash on its own.

I doubt the 64 bit has anything to do with it, since all Flash and browsers are running the 32 bit versions as any other machine would. The only way to do true 64 bit Flash is with an experimental build from Adobe and a true x64 browser IE 64-bit.
