I'll just say pretty much everything about Obama ticked me off, the way that he basically apologized for everything our country stood for, to the way he handled ISIS, healthcare, and just his attitude in general. He came off to me as not really having a clue what he was doing, and as arrogant like he knew everything. The vibe I felt was like he was trying to look down on people like he knew better than we did for our own lives.
Never sat right with me. I used to be a democrat actually until 2008. I was I suppose a moderate democrat. In fact, in 2008, I voted for Hillary in the primary. But when Obama got in, he pushed things so far left, that I went the opposite direction and became republican.
Trump, he may not be the best guy, but what I told people was I felt like he already had all the money and the power a person could want, and I felt like I could trust him more than the other candidates, because in my mind, he could have retired somewhere and not had all the headaches he is dealing with as President. I also do like the fact he's pulling back a lot of the regulations in many areas.
I felt like Hillary would have just been a continuation of Obama. I have no love for Bernie's ideas, but I would have almost rather had him in there than Hillary though. But I don't think you could ever have paid for his ideas. I just feel like the democratic party has gone so far left, I can't support them any longer. Especially with some of the things on abortion, etc. Being a a Christian, I can't stand for abortion and other socialistic type ideas that have cropped up. I'm not out to bother anyone for example who say may be gay or whatever, that is their business, not mine, but didn't like how a lot of those things were being pushed as normal. To me, I can't help what people do, but I can agree to disagree if that makes sense.
For example, I am from southeast Ohio originally, and there were a lot of coal mines etc in that area. The coal in some of the area is actually coming back a bit. Which is good because that area of the country is a very poor area.
I do however have my questions as to how no net neutrality will affect things. I am hoping that maybe it will spur competition like they are saying, but again, I wonder, however, I'm hoping for the best. But we are apparently along for the ride now lol.
As for the 1%, the figure I heard is that 80% of people will see a tax cut. As far as draining the swamp, I think he is attempting to, but I think you have a lot of Obama era holdovers in a lot of places that are desperately fighting everything he's trying to do tooth and nail. I also think he knew some things, but didn't realize how deep the swamp was.
It is interesting to watch however as things happen. I keep saying he's like teflon. As a Christian, I believe God is protecting him. Think about it, they've hit this dude with everything, and nothing seems to stick to him. Even if he does nothing for 8 years but rattle cages, that may do a lot to help the country.
