DriverForge + DriverPacks = automatically install drivers

Hi Guys! I'm still around. DF is not being developed anymore. I am, however, working on a new product called DriverGeek. It's much easier to use and it's also much faster on installing the drivers.

I'll update on when it's available for download.

Does this only work on Win 7 or XP as well?

Thanks Rick for the link, I managed to download DriverForge 5 from that link

I have not had a need to use it on Win 7 yet. On Win XP it comes in mighty handy.

I have a folder on my flash drive called 'Drivers'. In that folder I have the installer and then the config file then a sub folder D. I just get the drivers from driverpack.net and then extract them all. I think that they all extract to D.

Drivers
DPINST.exe
DPInst.xml
|--> D
|--> C
|-->CPU
|-->G
|-->L
|-->M
|-->S
|-->W

The following is my DPInst.xml. IIRC I grabbed it off some website, but I cannot remember where.
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<dpinst>

<!-- The following search and subDirectory elements direct
DPInst to search all subdirectories (under the DPInst working directory) to locate driver
packages. -->
<search>
<subDirectory>D</subDirectory>
</search>
<scanHardware/>
<!-- End of scanHardware-->
<!-- This switch configures DPInst to install unsigned drivers and driver packages that have missing files. -->
<legacyMode/>
<!-- End of legacyMode-->
<!-- This switch cdisplay a dialog box if a new driver is not a better match to a device than a driver that is currently installed on the device.
The dialog box informs a user of this situation and provides an option to replace the driver that is currently installed on the device with
the new driver.. -->
<promptIfDriverIsNotBetter/>
<!-- End of promptIfDriverIsNotBetter -->
<!--Summary of the DPInst XML Elements http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms791067(printer).aspx -->

</dpinst>

DriverForge is depreciated because I've now released DriverGeek v0.5 Beta 1

http://drop.io/wanderingit -- Just click on DriveGeek

Just click on DriverGeek for the beta download; a self extracting file. The configuration ini file gets created on first run. You must accept the EULA or type a one for ACCEPTEULA in the configuration ini file.

Test it out and let me know how it goes.

DriverForge its a simple utility that will install drivers in compressed/uncompressed format automatically. Using DriverPacks compressed drivers together with DriverForge gets it done. Click Start and enjoy the automatic driver install.

NOTE: sorry I'm new to the forums and can't post links, just google it.

Why not just use SAD2 from DriverPacks.net?
