Desktop Icons Turning off on Windows 7 - After enabling them, the user STILL sees no icons

Jeez! Anyone tried getting rid of this thing (metadefender)? I've had easier malware to shift. Had to use Process Hacker, Revo, CCleaner and (gasp! shock!) manual deletes to do it.

Did you get the download from Opswat or via a warez site with uTorrent?
I just ran it on two different comps without any problems whatsoever.

I got it from the link you quoted. No uninstaller - not even a folder in the 'Programs' tree. Eventually found it buried away in C:\Users\etc\.etc\Roaming
