Browser Extensions.

Do you use browser extensions? If so, which ones?

@UmbraEmsisoft
I was just having a look at some of the extensions you mentioned.
"Netcraft" looks interesting. Last updated today. ;) It has over 26,000 installs in Opera.
Mega, Feeder, Message Deleter for Slack, Speed Dial 2 not available for Opera, although there are alternatives.
Adguard (huge install base!) looks good, but very similar to uBlock/AdBlock etc..:)

About adguard i use the desktop system wide version, it support all popular browsers and has complementary security features; i only used the browser addon as a fast switch for the desktop version. :p

about Netcraft, well, i can,'t live without it :D

Aaahhh! The dreaded "conflicts list!"
For every positive there's a dozen negatives!
I noticed Steam and Punk Buster, Canon Printers, MS Office and Chrome on the list.
Well that just sucks!
I have no problem (that I know of) with MS Office 2013.
Wait! Let me take that back.
Occasionally, Outlook with Business Contact Manager will crash.
I never tried to research the cause.
Yes, I gave up on a Sandboxed Chrome which is too bad because I am trying to migrate from FireFox.

You can use them together.
uBlock browser add-on using the Adguard filter lists.
It looks like uBlock Origin already uses the Adguard Filter Lists.
Adguard Mobile Filters, Adguard Spyware Filters and Adguard Base Filters are listed but weren't checked.
I just enabled them.:)

My list is small, but its very handy for me.
  • uBlock Origin
  • Mercury Reader
  • Pay by Privacy.com
  • WOT: Web of Trust, Website Reputation Ratings
  • Ubiquiti Device Discovery Tool

My reasoning for pushing uBlock Origin to clients is that I mostly push it at ones where I suddenly get a rash of phishing notifications for items that AV Defender (N-Able Bitdefender branding) has blocked. I try to contact those clients directly (sometimes immediately), and several of them have had those in combination with the full-screen "your computer is infected, call Microsoft at XXXXXXXXXX" popups.

Once I point out that an adblocker will take care of any of those that come through a compromised ad network people are just fine with it, and I don't recall seeing any such alerts on systems with ad blocking enabled (with one possible exception where an equipment vendor's website had actually been compromised - for that one I dug up their phone number and called them directly).

Because they provide no information on who they are or what they really do. Many have descriptions written in clipped English and all are fairly new with only a few hundred likes.
That's why I went for one that had the source code on GitHub. Not all software developers speak/understand perfect English either.
As for likes, these things are relatively new, as you say, with a small install base, so until they become more widely known you'll have to trust your own judgement.
If your worried about adding extensions, there are other ways to block "mining code." uBlock Origin and many other adblockers block it now.
If your browser supports a custom host file/s (as Opera does) you can also just manually create you own list. :)

For Firefox:
  • uBlock Origin
  • uMatrix
  • Decentraleyes - just installed recently to test it out
  • HTTPS Everywhere
  • Behind the Overlay Revival - for closing html overlay popups
  • Link Cleaner - to remove tracking parameters from URLs
  • Superstop - to stop animated images at a single keypress
Also I enable when needed
  • Ageless - watch age restricted YouTube videos without signing in
  • SaveFrom.net Helper - download videos from YouTube and other sites

99% sure that having both uMatrix and uBlock Origin installed at the same time isn't going to get you anything - or more accurately, uMatrix will block everything without uBlock Origin ever seeing it.

I'm pretty sure that is incorrect, (but I'm willing to be corrected if you can provide a link to some relevant information).
The uBlock and uMatrix documentation is not very good at explaining how they work together.

uBlock Origin and uMatrix are by the same author and are designed to (optionally) work together.
uMatrix does matrix-based filtering, and handles cross-site requests.
uBlock does pattern-based filtering, is a "wide-spectrum" blocker, which can function as an "ad blocker".
They have different, complimentary functions.

The confusion is probably because uBlock does have an advanced mode which allows dynamic filtering and is a little like a "uMatrix-lite", but I don't use advanced mode since I use the more powerful uMatrix.
