This $5,000 workstation is old but not that old HP xw6600 16 GB reg. Ram, Xenon CPU E5430 @266

Takes over 15 minutes to load Win 10 replaced with an SSD still takes a long time when in sleep mode takes 20 minutes to wake up, probably a non-existent bios updated needed for that.

I thought with a Xenon CPU it would be fast just goes to show how things have changed and what a boat anchor Win 10 is.
It is built to run for another 10 or more years , but been made obsolete.

When I think about buying my first generic 80866 35 years ago for $1,500 with only a floppy
and I have to junk this, makes you think.

Even old simple core2duo systems run Fast with an ssd. I suspect it has some other issue than processing speed like some odd incompatibility causing these problems

What @pcpete said. If I recall correctly, there was another thread on here not too long ago about a strange incompatibility with certain ssds. You may have one of those beasts. Perhaps try another brand ssd. I'm not a Win10 fan by any means, but it sure sounds like something is terribly wrong here.

It's a single core CPU maybe that the reason also its error checking memory never had good luck with that, will try with a different SSD using a Samsung at the moment it runs Windows 7 good with a spinner
If only I had this 20 years ago it would be my pride and joy unthinkable to junk it, instead of the SX25 486 that I that made a hole in my pocket.

As a previous poster said incompatibility with certain ssds. was using a Samsung
Changed it to an old Intel SSD 520 series runs amazing with Win 10 wake up no problem.

Thanks for the comment YeOldeStonecat its deceiving you think you are getting top dog with a Xeon it has only one core
It has socket for another CPU it will never get.
I have a buyer now, I think this is a case of more is less.

Some people like dinosaurs if I had a use for it, I guess I would be one it is kinda cool with all the fans and a great built in sound system.

Correction Xeon is a Quad core

I sold it for $200 with a used 180 gig SSD and a huge, fancy looking but useless video card he is happy.
He got a good deal as SSD's have dramatically gone up in price.
