I know this is going old school, but I need to find a GOOD media center ISO for Dell OEM system. I have tried the Torrentz and I get nothing but junk. I would even wait and pay a few bucks for someone to mail me a copy of their CD/DVD. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah mate. Wrong Forum. Try WAREZBB or DEMONOID if you're wanting to source illegal material. This aint the place for it.

I forgot to mention that I already have the license. I use the key from the sticker on the side of the machine. The customer doesn't not have the original disks. I do not practice software pirating. But I will respect the TN rules and error on the safe side.

Thank you.

It's not a matter of licensing. It's a matter of it being illegal (or, if nothing else, against this forum's rules) to disseminate the discs.

Another option (still against MS' rules) is to get in the habit of asking customers to bring their discs with them for repairs. You're supposed to be using the customer's "original install media" anyway. Once you've got their discs, make your own ISOs and build up a library.

I may be missing something but i've seen lots of 'experienced' TN users recommending to 'just download the ISO as a torrent..' before??

OP, all you can really do in this situation is to contact DELL support, give them the service tag no, and all details pertaining to the original owner of the machine. They will then sell you the recovery media.

However if you do not know the ORIGINAL owners details, then suffice to say its a case of sorry cant/wont help.

M$ won't do anything about it either, as its OEM, rather than retail.

Chances are you may have to go the w7 route, or install linux.

I know this stinks, but it's the only legal way round.

@Dan - you may of seen it happen mate, but that is still against the forum rules on TN as you know. :(
