Windows could not complete the installation

So here's the scoop, got HP mini 110 that need a nuke and pave, customer did not have the recovery disks, no recover partition-I think she had some one try to fix it for her, but all he or she did was wipe the disk completely and half a#$# install Windows XP the computer originally came with Windows 7 starter.

I order the recover disks from HP, the disks arrived I started the installation with the boot disk the computer asked for the second disk, put that in then about 45min later it asks for the drivers disk I put that in, after about another 30 min a pop up came up saying that I needed to restart the computer, the options were restart now or restart later, however I could not click on either option, so I powered it down by holding the power button, after I few minutes it looked like everything was going great it gets to the loading screen you see right before you see your desktop and a message comes up that says Windows could not complete the installation, please restarted the installation with the recovery disks, I've done that three times with the same results.

Has anybody encountered this before?

And I did test the hard drive no errors or problems with the drive, and even though I can see the recovery partition now, when try to get to it- it just will not start like its not even there.

If you can't click on either option it sounds as though something is still happening in the background. I would perform the recovery again, and this time leave it alone. I seem to remember reading about a similar issue a a while ago, the guy left it for a few hours and it re-started itself when it was ready. Might be worth getting it to that stage this evening and leaving it overnight.

Yeah..I read that on another forum also, but the forum poster said that it did not work for him, but it might for me I will try that.

The last recovery I did stalled partway through and I just said "Screw this" and started it again. It behaved the second time.

Just reporting back..yep just needed to wait it out, the popup that pops up asking you to restart the computer must be a bug, becuase if you do it stops the installtion, just have to wait and let it restart on it's own.
