Windows 7 - issue resuming from hibernation

I have W7 Ultimate on my Samsung NC10 netbook. All is well, except whenever I resume from hibernation it takes a few minutes before it gets to the desktop. When I had XP, it took literally seconds. It is actually quicker to cancel the resume and boot from scratch.

The other thing is, when I finally get to the desktop after resuming, a "new hardware detected" message pops up and proceeds to go through the motions of installing a driver. However it fails every time, and somewhat annoyingly, does not list what hardware has been detected, it is just blank. Nothing in device manager either, not even with hidden devices showing.

This is a recent clean install, ESET Smart Security loaded, no sign of any nasties.

Any ideas?

As for your hibernation issue, it may be worth a try disabling (and then reenabling) hibernation from the command line (I cannot remember exactly but it something like 'powercfg') as this has solved hibernation issues in the past for me
