Who Is Using Ultimate Tech Site Kit?

I thought you might want to know that your site randomly closes the browser, no error messages, no not responding, just closes the browser

Ahhh, I see you've stumbled upon my browser based Java exploit...muhahahah :D. It's how I keep the virus removals on my bench! I'm kidding of course.

Thank you for pointing this out. I'm looking into it. The problem seems to be isolated to IE8. Not good for me with all the XP machines still in the mix as they can't upgrade to IE9.

Funny you should joke about that, one of my competitors which mainly deals with business customers, has a WordPress Site and it is infected. Just got some business from one of his customers that visited their infected site and got infected, his AV was way out of date. If I visit the competitor’s website on a test PC, MSE stops it.

Anyway he is going to recommend to other people, which is good. I have informed the competitor, that their site is infected.

“Thank you for pointing this out. I'm looking into it. The problem seems to be isolated to IE8. Not good for me with all the XP machines still in the mix as they can't upgrade to IE9.” Even on Vista and Windows 7, I am amazed how many people have not upgraded to IE9.

While the issue is been worked on, you could look at adding the IE7 compatibility Meta Tag (see below). I forced it on one of the sites in question and never had an issue with IE8.

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" />

Thanks

I've also used the kit on one of my sites:

http://computerrepairnottingham.com/

I found it very easy to use. I was especially impressed with the tutorial videos and Jim's support was 2nd to none.

The site isn't finished yet (the whole service section needs reworking plus testimonials etc. ) but I will get around to it as soon as my sudden influx of work dies down.

I like what you have done so far.

I do have one suggestion. "Looking for Computer Repair in Nottingham and Derby?" looks to be your first H1 tag. Personally I would just have it say "Nottingham and Derby Computer Repair". Then you go on to ask if they are looking for services, seem to be asking the same thing twice. And no one searches for "Looking for". First H1 is important.

Best of luck

The age of a domain in respects to SEO is is pretty much a myth.

You couldn't be more wrong. You want to trust a YouTube video by some Google employee telling you everything about their highly guarded algorithms?? Use common sense, Google WILL NOT promote a site to top of their search engine that hasn't been established as a business. Why? because Google puts a lot of emphasis on their search results for their users. So pushing any business that fell out of a turnip truck on top of their ranking will not work even if they paid someone $10000 for top of the line SEO work. Why? because if they go out of business in 6 months and that domain is gone, guess what happens, user will search, link will come up and user will click on it and guess what... page not found (Google search results just took a nose dive).

Now if you are a business in some BFE with 3000 population and you are the only business in that area then that is a different story. You will come up as number one for only that area but try that in a large city and see how far you will get.

Read some of the forums on Google Webmaster and other search engine fourms and see what the contributors say about it. Don't trust the company employee to tell how their stuff works. pft.... you kidding me??? lol

Im not sure that anyone inferred at any point that the Kit that contains "SEO Magic"

What are you referring to, specifically?

@16k_zx81, sorry, I didn't realize this was your product so I will retract what I said earlier. I am very hostile to people that promise things about SEO because I've been burned many times but I will retract my comments since this is a fellow Technibbler's product.

Can we please not turn the thread into a debate about "who has the best SEO knowledge"? To be frank, this dialogue has little, if anything, to do with OP's question.

If you want to thresh this out, please do, but in fairness to the rest of us, perhaps start a new thread or continue by PM?

Just a friendly suggestion....

Thanks

Thanks for the advice Paul, will get that changed ;)

I was one of the beta testers for this product. Unfortunately for my web site, but fortunate for my business, I had several large businesses the I had been working on gaining approve projects at the same time, hence progress on the web site stopped.

I will say that I was impressed with jim's support and follow up. The product videos were well done, and seems like a solid product.

Thanks Jim and team for your hard work.

yep it is

I'm on the verge of getting this but am a bit concerned about how fast the pages load up - I know Google's a bit fussy about page speeds

I'd guess that there's some clever way of optimising it via a plugin - I'm kinda new to Wordpress though :)

I wouldn't worry too much about page load speeds with it. It actually loads better than the little one page thing I had. I found that its a great kit, in fact I've probably underutilized it as far as what can all be done with it.

Would depend on the quality of your hosting, the size of your pages (images, etc), and whether there's a lot of bloat in the installation.

Any CMS is as good as its back end and its user, (kind of like a windows installation in this regard) . In other words, if you are running a lot of unnecessary crap on it, it can be speed-affected. Keep it lean and it will run as quick as anything else.

The system supports caching, which can significantly enhance load times.

But dont take my word for it! Seek independent advice on which hosts offer good speed, and about CMS speeds and comparatives for systems like WP - there's plenty of information out there in other forums and web sites. I think you will find CMS' dont offer any significant disadvantages in this respect and the SEO advantages can be significant.

If you do buy the ultimatetechsite package I am available any time to look at your install and assist/advise as required, and if you arent satisfied there's a money-back guarantee :)

ok cheers Jim, I'm sold!

I've gone and coughed up and the registration bit is asking me for the website URL to install the techsite on - is this something that is fixed in stone or can I change it later?

I want to get it all up and running somewhere before committing to getting rid of my existing site

I just put one of my old crappy urls in as I couldn't wait to see what I'd just forked out £80 for! I guess I can always cancel and then re-purchase if it's a problem.

I must say, from an hour's look at some of the videos and reading the SEO guide it all looks really impressive and I can't wait to cracking on my new site!

There's so much stuff in there & it's fantastic value and definitely worth a punt!

Even if you've already got a website I think it'd be worth getting a new domain for the UTS and do a comparison of hits/visitors/conversion between the two.

Well done & thanks Jim! :)
