Hello again all!

Well I am finally getting closer and closer to opening my retail computer
shop. Lost of work to do, but I'm sure most of you already know that.

I have created one of the flyers that I will be using for our Grand Opening.
I was wondering if I could get some critique, comments, and/or suggestions
on my flyer.

Don't hold back people. Give it to me straight. I need your comments so
I know what (if anything) needs to be changed. I'm trying to make it look
as professional as possible. FYI: Those are "tear off" phone number strips
on the bottom.

So PLEASE leave a comment suggestion, or anything you have to say about
it. I will take no offense. And...be rough on me. LOL :)

The flyer is located here:

NEW VERSION - UPDATED 10/07/10 (Please comment)

It looks pretty good. There seems to be a bit too much white space in the white box area so you might consider making your logo bigger or the text in that box bigger.

Where are these going to pe placed... The reason I ask is that I notice you have the pull off number things at the bottom. If you are only putting them around places with a bulletin board you may want to distribute them in other ways as well. I never bother to take a number off of a flyer on a bulletin board but I do tend to keep them if they come in the mail.

The white space was left by accident. Our company motto was supposed to
be there. I have now corrected it.

This particular flyer will be placed on bulletin boards. I am designing another
flyer for handing out, or direct mail. It will be very similar but without the pull
off number tabs.

As far as the pull off number tabs, I was playing with the idea of not having
them. Instead maybe leave about 10 or so flyers on the board and putting a
graphic of a yellow sticky pad in the upper right hand corner of the flyer
that says "take one" on it. That way an interested person can take the entire
flyer and have all the info they need. What do you think?

Either "check and correct" (w/quotes) or check-and-correct.

Same opinion about the white space. Can you stretch the logo/info out?

Thanks for your input. I will be correcting the check and correct to either
with dashes or quotes as you suggest. It does seem better that way.

Thanks :)

Anything at all that has your prices listed should say something like "Prices Subject to Change" or something like that. Same with the 10% off deal. Limited time only, or something.

I am not really impressed with tear offs on ads. It ends up looking horribly unprofessional after someone has a hard time removing one. You might be better off pinning the same amount of business cards in a sandwich bag to your ad.

I agree the tear off looks a right mess and I will bet they won't be used. The business card idea would work fine and is more likely to be kept than a small piece of paper.

with most people having a camera phone won't they just take a photo of it if they are interested?

or at least pop the number into their mobile phone

I'd throw in a QR Code in a corner somewhere just for that purpose; for the customers that don't realize what it is, they won't notice it; but for the ones that do, they'll say "Hey, that's frakkin cool!", whip out their smartphone, and scan in your info (address, website, phone, whatever you plugin to the code).

Thats actually a good idea. You could also set up a business with Google Maps and use the QR code that it gives you.

Yeh, I think that they look terrible too.

I'm working on a different version that won't have the tabs. Instead I will
leave about 5-10 at each location. The interested person can then just
take the whole flyer.

I'll post a link as soon as its done for critique.

Thanks for the input.

:)

Well I have now completed an updated version of my flyer.

This version does not have the pull off tabs. Also, since this one does not
have the tabs, I can use this one to hand out or mail to people and also to
businesses.

Here is the link to the new one:

(I also added the link the the first post.)

So what does everyone think of my new, updated flyer?
Please let me know, and again, don't hold back.

Thanks :)

Some of the images need to be edited to remove the jagged white edges, or change the background of the flyer to white, it gives the appearance you threw it together without putting time in.

Remember, you're a professional business, your flyers need to show that.

Which images do you mean? Let me know
so I can correct them.

Thank you. :)

The "Please Take One" post-it, the shadow is really jagged, along with the edges of it.

The stars on the bottom, as well.

The drop shadow on your "Grand Opening" ends all of a sudden on the left hand side.

This is just nit picking, but it will give it that "finished" feeling.

I agree with the above posters, $19.00 seems so low that it triggers red flags in my head as a consumer.
