Executive summary:

connects to monitor using micro-usb -> HDM adapter
bluetooth keyboard/trackpad (apparently mouse / keyboard also easily do-able)
bog standard android device (in this example a Galaxy Nexus) is surprisingly very functional as a 'computer', with a working desktop, mouse control, scrolling, applications, etc etc
within 2-3 phone / OS generations this will likely be an available consumer option (We're talking maybe 12-18 months, folks!)

Neat video. I love the touchpad with the keyboard and the "mouse cursor" on the screen. That's one thing I didn't like about just a BT keyboard is that you still had to reach to tap anything.

As mentioned in my 'will pc techs have the same fate as tv engineers' thread I think that this is going to become more the norm. I have a tablet my self and you can use them for almost anything.

A china phone!

I see.....but the other day i was going through a china phone with a bluetooth connectivity. Went throgh its features and i came 2 realize it was enabled in such a way that it could serve as a MOUSE! Its keypad could be used to open different windows and run through the other features. At the same time it coud operate the media player on my laptop from an application enabled in the bluetooth feature on the phone..... It is strange that i have not seen the same with an original nokia, sumsung bluetooth enabled phones. So a phone working as a desktop its a reality

This is something I have been experimenting with and I think I am going to set this up in the shop for customers to see.

I am not worried at all, this is something that everyone should expect and get used too and even get excited about. This only opens up more opportunities for troubleshooting, PC setup, hardware repairs etc.

Also, great idea for the keyboard and touchpad setup.

Nice video.
