I am in the perils of yet another dx6000 laptop..
I am having problems with the 2x usb ports on this thing. Customer brings it to me and tells me that her verizon air card wont work but she installs in on another computer and it works just fine.
I am thinking this is a VZW access manager issue, but it doesnt seem to be. VZW cant read the card, so i plug in my usb mouse and it never stops installing the driver for the mouse, it just sits there with the little icon by the clock (vista) spinning and when you try to open my computer, it freezes up. Same thing happens with my usb stick, it just doesnt recognize anything i plug in there usb. It sees that something is there but never installs the driver and never becomes usable.
I have heard of lots of mobo issues with these computers, however i have not seen this issue. This also happens in safe mode, which tells me that it might be hardware related. In device manager, everything appears normal. No yellow marks...
I am sure it is possible for the mobo to have the only two usb slots on it bad, cause it happens in both slots, but seems to easy of an answer. Any ideas on this? The computer is updated with service pack 2, dont see any virus's popping up, although I dont see any anti virus software on there.
Thanks!
