I am new to this and had it laying around and I was wondering if it is even possible? There is no Disc drive so how is an Upgrade performed? Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

That can't run 10.6. It might run 10.5, but slowly.

If it doesn't have a drive, you can use a usb drive.

g4? You'll be lucky to get any version of osx on that, let alone 10.6.

And to upgrade/install without an optical drive, you need an external optical drive.

Not sure what you mean. Have you turned it on?
There is an optical drive that slides out from behind the apple logo on the front.

here is the user guide http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/eMac_OriginalUserGuide.pdf

edit: Leopard should run on it but not snow leopard. You need to max the ram out. I have a client that uses one everyday.

Yes, but you'll be lucky if it runs well.. Just put 10.5 on a g5 and it ran like a dog..

Sure, I said that, too... But being "lucky if it runs well" and "lucky to get any version of OS X on that" are entirely different things.

Wow, thanks for all the replies sorry I was at work. So I have never did any type of Mac work before, lets get that out of the way so that is why I am attempting this... Some cheap guanine pig to test on. With that being said I have maxed out the memory on the machine and have put in an external USB drive I use for regular repairs. Is that what you guys mean? It does not recognize the drive I don't think. Also how would I boot to the DVD? Is there a way of changing the bios settings like Windows computers? Thanks guys sorry I'm such a noob at this but I figured its never to late to learn.
