+2 but it is always nice to have a reason to buy a good tool. I am funny about screw drivers. I just like the feel of some.

I agree, we should really be comparing screwdrivers and USB drives. That's all I carry with me!

Best screwdrivers ever http://www.amessupply.com/products1.cfm?aid=1&cid=D&sid=DE&fid=1404070&onhand=999 check out the 10". I work at a shop that does computers and copiers, and we are constantly stealing these from each other because they are so good. Perfectly weighted, precision ground tips.

Best USB drive http://lexar.com/jumpdrive/jd_firefly.html. Multiple colors so you can color-code them by purpose. So small they fit into any cramped USB slot, even next to other cables. Case hole fits on a keychain.

No, THIS is the best flash drive.

SD drives have a physical "Read Only" switch that USB's lack. But the amazing thing about this drive is that it "folds" into a USB drive.

I have 5 of these, bought them for $20 a piece at some sort of online sale in August. 4GB is a lot of space for portable apps. the 15MB read/write speed is the only con to this.

Man, that thing looks mean. I am buying a couple as we speak :)

I could see where that would have it's place, but, an equivalent 4GB firefly is $7.99 and I bet there is some USB slots that thing won't fit into :p

It will fit into literally any USB port- in fact this is a little better since it's thinner than the usb slot itself. All you need is to touch the contacts on the USB port and you're up and running. The price is justified by the feature and availability. I believe Sandisk stop making these hence the reason why there is no 8, 16 and 32GB versions yet...although I remember reading somewhere that an 8GB was in the works.

Buy them while they're available because they might be gone soon.

Thanks JosephLeo,

The SanDisk SDSDPH-004G-A11 4GB/15MB Ultra II SD Plus Card looks pretty amazing and you can bet that I'll be checking it out.

Also thanks e2346437 for the screwdriver suggestion. I'll test it out also.

Thanks for sharing these products,

Me and swiss army knives don't get along. I have big hands and those things are so...tiny. I would love if they made maybe a larger version...:(

A Leatherman Wave is my favourite tool, basically a bigger swiss army knife with pliers. Wear it on your belt for extra geek cred ;) I've had mine for nearly 10 years and use it just about every day, still going strong.

Nah, I have one in my tackle-box for when I go fishing (Stainless steel = Good for fishing so long as you run it throw salt-free water after) and the tools are still to small for my hands. I only have a use for the pliers- but I already have a set of regular, needlenose and ultra-precision pliers.

Black & Decker is my friend, but occasionally I cheat on them with Kobalt :p

NICE A double find. A new eTailer to add to my bookmarks and a new version of this SD/USB card to buy! Double the price- double the space...a fair trade I guess...although $50 would of been a much sweeter spot.

About as good as it gets I suppose. I'd love a 16 or 32GB though.

That's asking a bit much though. Just buy a couple of these and you should be good. It's not like we're using software titles that take up dozens of gigabytes of space anyway. Most of our programs range in the 10 to 50MB range....so an 8 gigger should suffice for now. Maybe in 10 or so years we might need an upgrade ;)

I have 4 2gb standard sd card's with standard card reader's
1 for cleaning
1 for diagnostics
1 for free software
1 to back up small data (contacts, favourites bla, bla)
I take my extension leads with me so no issue of fitting into usb slots (when will pc designers learn usb slot need to be further apart). I always recommend using the extension leads after seeing how easy it is to just knock a usb stick.

The PC designers are following a strict set of standards. It's the peripheral manufacturers who are abhorrent to them.

Also- why would you need so many SD cards if a single 8GB with dedicated folders can do the same using less space (unless 2GB was considered high-end when you bought it. Now I think SD cards are up to 64GB and CF cards 128GB)
