Surveillance System Time For Upgrade

My video surveillance system is about 6 or 7 years old and I think it's time upgrade. Nice system when I put it in but now days it is not nearly as good of quality video as I see some places having. There are so many different systems these days who knows where to start. I know I would like to go IP based and run four cameras like I have now I just have no idea what brands to look at. Anyone have any suggestions for me to check out? Thanks.

I am also interested in advice with this sort of thing. I plan to install a system very soon.
My needs:
5-8 cameras (all outdoor)
MUST record (have 20tb of space on NAS)
Have Cat 6 already ran to all locations.
Have 24 port POE switch
No Wifi cams.
I would prefer 1-3MP cameras

No wireless cameras for sure. Record most definetley. Already have RG59 ran for current system being replaced but don't mind running new cable if I go Ip cameras. Not just looking for something cheap, I prefer quality. Thanks

Most likely want to go with IP cams for the higher quality they are able to provide. Are the cameras inside or outside? We have 3 Ubiquiti AirCam Domes in use at our shop using the BlueIris software as our NVR. Picture quality is decent (720p). Biggest downside is there is no IR/nightvision, but that's not a big deal for us as we leave enough lights on around the doors and have emergency lighting if the power is out.

The problem with ubiquti cams is they don't have night vision. Check out foscam IP cameras, specifically the 720p models. Very good quality and they come with blue iris, which is your DVR software. Then all you need is the cabling and nas and computer to save the feeds to.
