I was wondering if any one can give some advice on trying to start a tech business. At first I would like to start with cleaning computers with viruses and other small scale stuff to help get my foot in the door. Eventually I would like to work more on network security for my company. Also if any can answer me this question as well. I want to take the COMPTIA security plus exam however it says that 2years of experience is required to take the test. However my professor said that after his class I took last fall I can take the exam right after. If that is true I would like to take it this summer. But need to know which is true.

Thanks in advance.

People don't plan to fail, they fail to plan. So have you put together a business plan? @Your PCMD has put together a template that you can use. Don't have to do everything, just what is relevant. When putting together financials don't do just one scenario. Bad, good, and great. Make sure you understand your exit strategy and costs.

Since you're in the USA take advantage of the SBA. Might be a chapter close to you.

Find Good people who are doing that tech stuff, connect with them and start cooperating. That's the best advice I can give you. Just find someone 10 years ahead of you so he can teach you the important stuff in your business and you can continue from there.

Since I posted the free ebooks link above, everyone has played nice but one person from Carlsbad, CA. Everyone can thank that member for violating my only rule and now all emails have to be verified moving ahead.
